I serve as Magento’s Evangelist, and I’m also the Magento U
instructor from the Fundamentals of Magento Development video
series which we released in 2011. These opportunities have
given me the chance to experience the energy and excitement of
our community in India. I am therefore excited that the first
MagentoLive event in Asia will be in Bengaluru on May
2, 2017. India is a great first stop for MagentoLive
in the region, and registration is open now!
Why MagentoLive India? With nearly half of all Magento
2 downloads and a year-over-year doubling of business interest
coming from India and the Asia Pacific region, the Magento
community is experiencing tremendous growth in the region. It
is important for us to build on this momentum by bringing our
growing community of partners and developers together through
our unique program.
MagentoLive India is a chance for us to tell you our story in
person. It’s also a chance for the developers, agencies, and
partners in the region to meet with key Magento executives
including leaders from our Channel (partner) Management, Sales,
Strategy and Growth teams as well as members of our executive
leadership including Magento CEO Mark Lavelle and SVP of
Strategy and Growth Mark Lenhard. Most importantly, we look
forward to spending time with all of you, and providing a forum
for you—our key decision makers in your market—to meet each
Registration is capped at 400, so please register now at the event website. If you have a
brand, service, or tool which you’d like to promote, consider
purchasing a sponsorship to increase your visibility. For more
information on sponsorships, click here. We will be donating a portion of
ticket sales to support the local community, and we look
forward to sharing more details shortly.
For experienced Magento 2 developers: Our
visit to India includes three Magento 2 Contribution Days led
by our new Community Engineering team. These will take place in
Bengaluru (Dates to be announced). The Contribution Day program
involves working directly with core architects to contribute
directly to the Magento 2 core via pull request. If you’re
interested, take a look at what your peers have already
been doing over at our public repo. More details about
the Contribution Day program in India will be coming soon.
Finally, we are currently delivering official Magento U courses
through the Magento U Authorized Trainer Program in several
locations in India. These trainers have been carefully selected
and trained by Magento U experts to deliver the same content
used in Magento U delivered courses. Next class: April 25–28 in
Ahmedabad. For more information and to register, please visit
Magento U page.
MagentoLive is a living, breathing thing. It’s a vital platform
for networking, collaboration, and learning in our ecosystem.
The character of each MagentoLive event comes from the
attendees and organizations whose participation make the event
possible and make the event truly come alive. I will be there
along with so many others who are eager to meet you and to hear
the story of Magento in India.
